DIMPLE
CREATION
What is
Dimple Creation?
The Dimple of
the cheek skin is a form or shape resulting from an in folded tissue
that becomes prominent on facial animation or smiling.
Dimple creation simulates
the natural way a dimple
is formed by forming a connection between the skin and the cheek
muscle, such that when the muscle contracts, it pulls the skin inwards
to form a dimple. It is usually done by creating a core biopsy incision
inside the mouth. This procedure improves one’s facial
features all the more.
Risks on
Dimple Creation
Complications rarely happen in Dimple
creation since it is a
fairly simple procedure and commonly done on an outpatient basis by a certified plastic surgeon.
Dimple
Creation Frequently Asked Questions
Question:
Can a
dimple be created even if the cheeks are chubby?
Dimple
creation can be performed
on any kind of cheek, be it chubby or not. If a patient wants very
prominent dimples, a bigger punch biopsy will be used to be able to
remove a bigger core of soft tissue.
Question:
How
long does dimple
surgery take?
The surgery takes about 30 minutes only. You can walk in without a
dimple and leave with your desired facial indents.
Question:
Will
there be swelling in my face? What do I need to do after the Dimple
Creation procedure?
There is usually minimal swelling after the surgery. The after care
steps are just as simple and easy as the procedure. Regular mouth
rinsing should be done with Betadine oral antiseptic solution or
Bactidol (chlorhexidine) solution, and antibiotic intake.
